Senior Engineer in Reliability Assurance

In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in enhancing the reliability and performance of our manufacturing and support systems. Reporting to the Reliability Engineering Manager, you will serve as a key liaison among operations, maintenance, manufacturing, automation, quality assurance, validation, and utilities engineering.
Your Contributions:
- Formulate maintenance strategies, detailed plans, standard operating procedures (SOPs), parts inventories, bill of materials (BOMs), and frequency schedules for both new and upgraded equipment.
- Collaborate with safety, quality, and manufacturing teams to conduct assessments of equipment importance levels.
- Review, refine, and update existing Maintenance SOPs, Parts Lists, BOMs, and ensure the integrity of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) data.
- Analyze CMMS data to uncover trends and identify areas for improvement, while also conducting functional equivalency assessments of spare parts.
- Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and maintenance teams to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Lead and facilitate Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and spearhead Reliability Centered Maintenance initiatives in designated areas.
- Implement predictive maintenance technologies aimed at maximizing equipment uptime and driving cost, waste, and energy reduction initiatives.
- Engage in technical evaluations of equipment design projects and may participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and commissioning of new or modified equipment.
- Take ownership of change control and Quality/Safety Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) tasks as assigned.
- Provide regular updates on project and operational metrics to senior management.
- Effectively communicate technical or project management challenges in both verbal and written formats.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline is required, along with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is essential, as is proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
Strong understanding of core engineering principles, including heat transfer, mass transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics is necessary. Experience in biotechnology manufacturing processes such as cell culture, purification, aseptic filling, and supporting systems like Cleaning in Place (CIP), Sterilization in Place (SIP), HVAC, and clean utilities is highly desirable.
Work Environment Considerations:
In this role, you may be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to strict cleanliness protocols. This includes the removal of makeup, jewelry, and other personal items while in the manufacturing area.
Flexibility in working hours, including potential shifts on weekends, is expected. You may also be exposed to various chemicals and must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 25 lbs.
