Position Overview:

As an Automation and Controls Technician, you will lead the charge in developing and executing automation initiatives aimed at boosting the efficiency and safety of production operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement automation projects to improve manufacturing efficiency and safety.
  • Program and configure automated systems, including PLCs and VFDs.
  • Oversee projects from initial concept to final execution, ensuring equipment readiness and optimal performance.
  • Conduct advanced troubleshooting of automated systems to reduce downtime and maintain continuous operation.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives with the Focus Improvement team to enhance processes and productivity.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on capital projects to enhance automation capabilities and meet strategic goals.
  • Actively contribute as a member of the HazMat team.

Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree or higher in automation technology, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Completion of training courses specific to Rockwell Automation products is advantageous.
  • Hands-on experience with Rockwell Automation hardware and software, including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, PanelView, FactoryTalk View, and RSLogix 5000/Studio 5000.
  • Proficiency in programming, configuring, and troubleshooting Rockwell Automation PLCs and HMI/SCADA systems.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, and DeviceNet.
  • Experience with GE Proficy iFix for developing and maintaining HMI/SCADA applications is a plus.
