Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise supervisors and managers on performance management concerns and mitigating risks.
  • Review complex employee investigations and draft corrective or disciplinary letters.
  • Draft grievance responses, EEOC complaint responses, and other correspondence on behalf of appointing authorities.
  • Interpret and advise on collective bargaining agreements, Washington Administrative Codes, and agency policies on human resources issues.
  • Develop and provide presentations on employment-related topics.
  • Assist in preparation of materials for grievances, unemployment hearings, and litigation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with a focus on business, human resources, social, or organizational behavioral sciences, or related field, and two years of professional human resource experience.
  • Professional-level human resource experience may substitute year for year for required education.

  • Technical skills, including working knowledge of public employment and HR-related WACs, RCWs, Federal Laws, collective bargaining agreements, and policies/procedures.
  • Communication skills, including conveying information and ideas in a logical, clear, and concise manner.

  • Adaptability, including maintaining effectiveness in a changing work environment.
