Vice Provost for Academic Administration

The Vice Provost for Academic Administration is a key leadership position that supports and promotes academic administrative systems at Azusa Pacific University. The successful candidate will assist the Provost in carrying out varied academic initiatives and collaborate with the Vice Provost for Curriculum, Teaching & Learning and other staff of the Provost's Office and participates in the Academic Cabinet (AC).
Key Responsibilities- Reports to the Provost and, in collaboration with the Provost and Deans, assists in the development and administration of high-quality academic support and administrative services.
- Assures and promotes the University's four cornerstones and the evangelical Christian mission of the University in relation to academic programs and administrative services.
- Collaborates with the members of the Provost's Office, Academic Cabinet, and President's Cabinet in developing and shepherding the institution's strategic academic vision.
- Assists in developing the budgetary needs and parameters for academic support and administrative systems.
- Promotes, in collaboration with the Provost, the securing of needed resources and personnel to support quality academic support and administrative systems.
- Promotes internal communication and collaboration among academic administrators, and represents their interests to the Provost's Office and the Academic Cabinet.
- Supports related clear communication among administration, faculty, and students.
- Assures compliance with WASC's and the State of California's required accreditation standards for academic programs.
- Serves as the Provost representative to relevant Senate and University committees, providing regular updates to the Provost and Academic Cabinet.
- Collaborates with the Office of the President, the Provost, the Academic Cabinet, and related faculty groups in prioritizing the implementation of relevant new initiatives.
- A demonstrated, vibrant Christian faith compatible with the mission of Azusa Pacific University.
- An established record of success in serving ethnically diverse populations.
- Holds an earned Ph.D. and has extensive experience in higher education academic administration; preference for prior faculty experience, as well as supervisory and budget experience.
- Demonstration of collegial teamwork and desire to collaborate with colleagues to meet division and institutional needs.
