Lead Financial Operations at Wounded Warrior Project

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Finance and Accounting to lead our financial operations team at Wounded Warrior Project. As a key member of our executive team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of our financial reporting, as well as safeguarding our assets and allocating organizational resources effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Chief Financial Officer in strategic initiatives and resource allocation
  • Oversee accounting, treasury, payroll, employee expenses, accounts payable, and procurement functions
  • Direct budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities
  • Provide clear, accurate, and timely financial results, forecasts, and metrics to executive leadership
  • Ensure accurate and compliant annual reporting of consolidated GAAP financial statements and IRS Form 990s
  • Maintain effective internal controls and safeguards for donation revenue, in-kind contributions, cash expenditures, and protection of financial assets
  • Recruit and develop a high-performing financial operations team
  • Drive continuous improvements in business processes, efficiencies, and cost control
Requirements:
  • 10 years of direct experience in finance and accounting
  • 10 years of leadership or staff management experience
  • Strong technical skills in accounting, financial planning, and analysis
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Proven experience in leading, managing, and influencing effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5 years of non-profit experience
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification
