Job Overview

QuickBooks Accountant required at Burnett Specialists.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and collections through QuickBooks.
  • Perform essential accounting tasks.
  • Handle intercompany transfers and reconciliations across various entities.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities such as journal entries, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Review and process employee expense reports and credit card transactions.
  • Oversee customer and vendor setup and maintenance, including W-9 requests.
  • Request and review Sales Tax Exemption Certificates, analyze QuickBooks sales tax reports, and file state sales tax returns.
  • Assist with quarter-end and year-end closing, including 1099 and 1096 reporting and tax preparation documentation.
  • Support recurring accruals, depreciation, and amortization entries.
  • Contribute to the preparation of forecasts and annual budgets.
  • Assist in purchasing activities, including generating purchase orders and work orders related to inventory and sales.
  • Verify and reconcile purchase orders with packing slips and invoices.
  • Support inventory management, including counts and control measures.
  • Provide ongoing support to accounting and management teams with regular reports and spreadsheets.
  • Monitor cash flow through daily bank activity assessments.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports for management utilizing Excel and other software tools.
  • Engage in various accounting and HR projects as assigned.
  • Conduct financial analysis requiring discretion and sound judgment.
Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of QuickBooks.
  • Experience with UPS WorldShip, All Orders/NumberCruncher, and NetSuite is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, particularly Salesforce, is preferred.
  • Experience in software migration is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes is beneficial.
  • Experience in purchasing and inventory control.
  • Familiarity with sales tax return processes.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including data compilation and report preparation.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
