Job Overview

We are seeking a Financial Accountant - QuickBooks Specialist to join our team. Key Responsibilities include:
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, credit memos, and collections utilizing QuickBooks

  • Handling intercompany transfers and reconciliations across multiple entities
  • Executing monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting tasks such as journal entries, bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Reviewing and processing employee expense reports and credit card transactions
  • Setting up and maintaining customer and vendor records, including W-9 requests
  • Requesting Sales Tax Exemption Certificates, reviewing QuickBooks sales tax reports, and filing sales tax returns for various states
  • Assisting with quarterly and year-end closing processes, including 1099 and 1096 reporting and tax preparation documentation
  • Supporting recurring accruals, depreciation, and amortization entries
  • Contributing to the preparation of financial forecasts and annual budgets
  • Assisting in purchasing activities, including generating purchase orders and work orders related to inventory and sales
  • Verifying and reconciling purchase orders with packing slips and invoices
  • Participating in inventory counts, inventory management, bill of materials, and other inventory-related tasks
  • Providing support to accounting and management teams with regular weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports and spreadsheets
  • Monitoring cash flow through daily bank activity reviews
  • Preparing ad hoc reports for senior management using Excel and other software
  • Carrying out additional accounting and HR responsibilities and projects as assigned
  • Conducting analysis of company financials, requiring the regular exercise of discretion and judgment
Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
  • Strong expertise in QuickBooks
  • Experience with UPS WorldShip is preferred
  • Familiarity with All Orders/NumberCruncher is preferred
  • NetSuite experience is a plus
  • CRM knowledge, particularly Salesforce, is preferred
  • Experience with software migration is advantageous
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes is beneficial
  • Expertise in purchasing and inventory control
  • Experience with sales tax returns
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Outstanding analytical skills: capable of compiling and analyzing data, preparing reports, and verifying information
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Strong communication and writing skills
