Job Summary

A privately held mid-size equipment manufacturer is seeking a skilled Cost Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in inventory and cost accounting, with a strong background in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and proficiency in SAP.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory valuation roll forward
  • Review and analyze inventory and margin reports
  • Conduct detailed analyses of inventory and labor costs
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales, cost of goods, and inventory reports
  • Reconcile inventory monthly between pcMRP and QuickBooks
  • Prepare monthly sales, material & labor costs, and WIP journals into QuickBooks
  • Assist with cycle counts and physical inventories
  • Prepare monthly operational KPIs
  • Help develop new processes to enhance cost reporting and financial efficiency
  • Present analyses and findings to management
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing and finance on procedures, process controls, and improvements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in inventory and cost accounting
  • Proficiency in SAP and QuickBooks
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in efficiently collaborating with engineering and manufacturing personnel on the development and analysis of cost standards
  • Ability to swiftly acquire proficiency in computer programs and gather data for reporting and analysis
