Production Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to lead our Truss Shop team at Builders FirstSource. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our production staff, ensuring efficient and safe operations, and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule and direct workers in truss or panel manufacturing to meet production demands and deadlines.
- Interview and select hires to ensure the department is fully staffed for production needs, and train workers in safe and correct equipment operation.
- Study production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements and work procedures to meet schedule demands, and apply company policies and ensure alignment with core values and compliance with safety regulations.
- Recommend measures to improve productivity, equipment performance, quality of product, and efficiency, and analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
- Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals, and maintain time and production records.
- Confer with management and area leads to coordinate activities of individual departments, and perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three to five years related experience and/or training, with prior experience supervising preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to observe safety and security procedures, and identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Ability to operate under pressure while maintaining emotions, and work well in a team atmosphere, promoting a team mentality.
- Dedication to continuous improvement, balancing team and individual responsibilities and goals, and sets expectations and monitors delegated activities, providing feedback or recognition for results.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
