Role Summary

Teachers focus intently on instructional strategies that captivate students and offer numerous opportunities for the practical application of acquired knowledge. Continuous assessment of student understanding and work informs timely adjustments to instruction, enabling teachers to address learning gaps effectively.

As an enrichment educator, you will cultivate each student's interest and capabilities in creative expression, particularly in the realm of Computer Science, while adhering to school guidelines and fostering aesthetic appreciation.

They create classroom environments characterized by strong routines and management practices that optimize instructional time. Effective communication regarding student progress is maintained with both students and their families.

Preparation, Instruction, and Assessment (90%)

  • Implement the Distinctive Schools Model effectively.
  • Provide equitable opportunities for all students to engage with grade-appropriate assignments.
  • Deliver compelling instruction that encourages deep cognitive engagement.
  • Utilize core instructional tools to design and deliver dynamic lessons aligned with educational standards.
  • Commit to personalized learning that integrates students' needs, strengths, and interests.
  • Maintain an inventory of instructional materials.
  • Keep accurate records of student progress and development.
  • Analyze assessments to inform instructional strategies and support mastery of grade-level standards.
  • Engage in professional development and collaborative opportunities to enhance instructional effectiveness.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal.

Classroom Culture (10%)

  • Maintain an organized and welcoming classroom environment that promotes belonging and safety.
  • Implement strong classroom procedures and routines that maximize learning opportunities.
  • Build and nurture relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with students and their families.
  • Utilize restorative practices in discipline and behavior management.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support student growth and achievement.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Qualifications

  • Valid Professional Educator License.
  • Content Area Endorsement and expertise in the subject matter.
  • Technological competencies:
    • Ability to analyze student and campus data from various sources.
    • Proficiency with cloud-based software solutions.
    • Willingness to learn new digital tools as necessary.
  • Willingness to travel for training and professional development.
  • Commitment to supporting students' social, emotional, and academic growth.

Physical Demands: Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine motor skills required. The role typically involves 10% sitting, 50% walking, and 40% standing.
