Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement Evidence-Based Curriculum:
    Deliver a rigorous curriculum that promotes student engagement and achievement. Prepare and execute lesson plans that meet educational standards and encourage active participation.
  • Monitor Student Progress:
    Utilize formative assessments to track student performance and adjust instructional strategies accordingly. Provide constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Foster Positive Relationships:
    Build and maintain supportive relationships with students from diverse backgrounds. Establish and uphold classroom behavior expectations.
  • Collaborate Effectively:
    Engage in collaborative efforts within the department and school community to enhance student performance and share best practices.
  • Fulfill Professional Responsibilities:
    Participate in structured lesson planning that accommodates various learning levels. Maintain accurate records of student progress in accordance with school policies.
  • Support School Mission:
    Contribute to creating inclusive and affirming spaces for all students.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics or a related field (Required).
  • Mathematics endorsements or an advanced degree in Mathematics.
  • Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educators License (PEL or 9-12 Required).

Preferred Experience:
Experience in teaching high school mathematics, particularly Algebra I/II and Geometry.

Civitas Schools offers a competitive salary and benefits package, recognizing up to five years of relevant work experience.
