Job Summary: As a Case Manager at Star of Hope, you will be responsible for managing the life cycle of clients, including ministry, developing short and long-term objectives, holding them accountable, handling and resolving grievances, discipline, and termination. You will also ensure each resident is following a program that will assist in the transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency, maintain order in the facility, and keep accurate records on each resident.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Client Management: Manage the life cycle of clients, including ministry, developing short and long-term objectives, holding them accountable, handling and resolving grievances, discipline, and termination.
  2. Program Development: Ensure each resident is following a program that will assist in the transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency.
  3. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records on each resident.
  4. Communication: Communicate effectively with all levels of staff and clients, both oral and written.
  5. Teamwork: Participate in regular staffing meetings regarding residents' progress and refer residents with specific needs to the appropriate program or counselor.
  6. Training and Development: Participate in trainings as assigned and maintain a willingness to serve the Lord in a ministry that deals with homeless men, women, and children.

Requirements:

  • B.A. or B.S. in Social Science or related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 year working experience in the field of Social Science as a Case Manager preferably with those with mental health problems.
  • Good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Average to above aptitude in counseling and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to work respectfully, professionally, and in a Christ-like manner with everyone.

Work Environment: Indoor office environment. Schedule may be subject to change to meet the business needs of the mission. Local travel may be required. Exposure to infectious diseases, poor hygiene, drug usage, verbal and physical abuse, and other emergency situations relative to the homeless population is normal.

Physical Requirements: Ability to bend, stoop, and climb stairs. Normal vision and hearing required.
