Top Secret SCI w/Polygraph Required
The Information System Security Officer (ISSO), Level 2, is a pivotal role within our organization, providing essential guidance and support to ensure the secure configuration and operation of IT assets.
This mid-level position requires a comprehensive understanding of standard information system security principles, practices, and procedures. Candidates should meet the following qualifications:
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and apply network security principles effectively.
- Integrate information systems within a physical security framework.
- Maintain knowledge of system functions, security policies, and operational security measures.
- Understand various system methodologies, including client-server and web hosting.
- Detect and prevent security breaches in a networked environment.
- Manage configuration, maintenance, and integration testing of systems.
- Utilize tools to counteract malicious software.
- Familiarize with COTS tools for scanning removable and fixed media.
- Interpret and clarify Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 503.
- Support forensics and preservation of evidence.
- Troubleshoot technical configurations to protect sensitive data.
- Translate technical jargon into clear, understandable language.
- Apply risk management strategies to security challenges.
- Demonstrate proficiency in various operating systems (e.g., Microsoft Windows, LINUX, UNIX).
- Analyze complex technical documentation.
- Maintain databases effectively.
- Document and organize information clearly.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite proficiently.
- Understand applicable IC and DoD policies related to IT and information assurance.
- Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with military personnel and contractors.
- Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and manage team workflow.
- Correlate audit results across systems and report discrepancies.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience with a High School/GED (8 years), or an Associate's Degree (6 years). A Master's Degree or higher with 2 years of relevant experience is also acceptable.
Desired Qualifications:
- Education in computer engineering, information security, information management, or computer science.
- Experience in technical project management.
All contractors in this role must maintain or obtain professional Information Security certifications within six months of their start date.
