Position Overview
Abacus Technology Corporation is in search of a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst responsible for strategizing and executing protective measures for IT systems within the Department of Energy's Office of Environment, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS). This role is a full-time commitment.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of the security framework for DoE EHSS.
- Safeguard network and IT infrastructure along with telecommunications systems from cyber threats.
- Address and manage security incidents.
- Diagnose, analyze, formulate, document, and assist in executing remediation strategies.
- Stay informed about evolving threats and cutting-edge security tools.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of experience in information and cybersecurity. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline is required. Security certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISA, CISM, or similar are advantageous. Proven experience in planning, coordinating, and executing security protocols to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems and their data. Familiarity with access control measures to manage access to computer data files and prevent unauthorized alterations, destruction, or disclosure of information. Demonstrated ability in creating, monitoring, and testing cybersecurity strategies and controls using government-approved methodologies and tools. Experience in documenting test outcomes, proposing corrective measures, and developing risk assessment statements. Proficient in implementing NIST SP 800-53, CNSS controls, DISA STIGs, or CIS Benchmarks, as well as Continuous Diagnostic and Monitoring programs, and FIPS 199. Extensive knowledge of compliance with federal laws (e.g., FISMA, Privacy Act, Federal Records Act), regulations, OMB requirements, NIST publications, CNSS publications, and the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP). Exceptional technical writing, analytical thinking, and communication skills, both oral and written. Strong customer service aptitude is essential. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and possess a current DoD Top Secret or DoE Q clearance.
