Work Environment
This is a full-time role that can be performed remotely, with potential travel to client locations in the Washington, DC area as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in cybersecurity matters and federal regulations pertaining to cybersecurity and privacy. Responsibilities include:
- Staying informed on federal guidelines and requirements related to cybersecurity, privacy, and pertinent topics (e.g., Artificial Intelligence).
- Providing research and revision assistance for policy updates, procedures, handbooks, and other documentation as required.
- Drafting new policies, procedures, handbooks, or other documents for stakeholder review, including compliance and verification matrices.
- Creating and updating crosswalk documents to ensure the accuracy of client document citations and links.
- Developing reverse crosswalk documents to validate requirements cited in client documents.
- Assisting in the creation of documentation to automate standard processes in ServiceNow related to organizational cybersecurity and privacy activities.
- Updating client documentation to align with current cybersecurity roles and responsibilities.
- Facilitating the client's continuous feedback process using Microsoft Forms and GitHub to manage feedback for policies, procedures, and handbooks.
- Maintaining ongoing collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure effective integration of feedback and deliver high-quality support.
- Ensuring all cybersecurity and privacy policy documentation is reviewed and updated at least annually, as necessary.
- Providing continuous support to primary client functional leads to ensure comprehensive coverage of their mission areas (cybersecurity and privacy).
- Monitoring for key updates to organizational structure, security, and privacy requirements to ensure compliance and responsiveness to new initiatives.
Qualifications
- A minimum of eleven (11) years of experience in developing and updating cybersecurity and privacy-related policies, processes, handbooks, and other directive documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of national and international laws, regulations, and policies related to cybersecurity and privacy.
- Expertise in Cybersecurity Principles, familiarity with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and associated Special Publications. Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC are preferred.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles, cyber threats, vulnerabilities, computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies.
- Proactive and highly motivated to support client needs and ensure optimal support for documentation development and maintenance activities in line with federal guidance.
- Technical writing and some graphic design skills are essential for producing technical documents and graphics to meet client needs.
- Ability to pass a background investigation to obtain a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) card.
- Familiarity with GitHub for document review management or the ability to learn quickly.
- Experience with DOD/NASA is desirable.
