  • Lead Materials and Process
    Engineer/Sr. Lead Materials and Process Engineer to become part of our team of skilled, diverse professionals. This position will be based in various locations.
**This role may be filled at either the Lead Materials and Process Engineer level or the Sr. Lead Materials and Process Engineer level, depending on the qualifications outlined.

*Essential Functions:

  • The selected candidate will be tasked with analyzing, researching, and developing materials along with their associated application processes for engineering design and application in structures, systems, and subsystems.
  • The candidate will utilize principles of chemistry, physics, and material science to address material challenges and propose solutions.
  • The candidate will collaborate within a team environment alongside other engineering professionals, conducting thorough technical evaluations of drawings, specifications, and manufacturing plans.
*Basic Qualifications:

*Lead Materials and Process Engineer (T03):

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) related field with 5 or more years of engineering experience or MS in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) related field with 3 years of engineering experience or PhD in STEM.
  • Active in-scope DOD Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) (Not needed to start)
  • Familiar with composite pre-pregs, honeycombs, and adhesive materials; Fabrication, assembly, and repair processes for aircraft composite structures, familiar with metallic materials and processes

Lead Materials and Process Engineer (T04):

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) related field with 9 or more years of engineering experience or MS in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) related field with 7 years of engineering experience or PhD in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) related filed with 4 years of experience.
  • Active in-scope DOD Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) to start (Not needed to start)
  • Familiar with composite pre-pregs, honeycombs, and adhesive materials; Fabrication, assembly, and repair processes for aircraft composite structures, familiar with metallic materials and processes
*Preferred Qualifications*:

  • Experience with military aircraft
  • Experience in preparing and delivering oral and written reports
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science
  • Experience with material Obsolescence issues and qualifying materials
  • Experience with LO materials
*Salary Range: *$97,500 - $146,300

*Salary Range 2: *$120,900 - $181,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
