Role Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will oversee the daily operations of the manufacturing engineering team, ensuring support for various programs. This role will be pivotal in driving organizational goals and catering to the needs of business clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily activities of the manufacturing engineering team across multiple projects.
- Lead initiatives that align with organizational objectives and support business line requirements.
- Coordinate projects, conduct process reviews, and spearhead process improvement initiatives for manufacturing projects.
- Establish the operational tempo for the engineering team, collaborating cross-functionally with production engineering, operations, quality assurance, and production control.
- Oversee departmental budgets and asset scheduling to meet program demands.
- Act as the primary point of contact for manufacturing engineering issues during audits and reviews.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in aerospace manufacturing or production engineering, with a strong background in cross-functional collaboration.
- Expertise in developing and implementing manufacturing plans.
- Solid understanding of engineering blueprints, GD&T, and manufacturing planning.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with effective communication and decision-making abilities.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with advanced composites, structures, and coatings manufacturing.
- Knowledge in tool design, vehicle assembly, and component fabrication.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and process improvement methodologies.
- Experience with production planning tools such as CAPP and SOM.
Security Clearance:
This position requires a government security clearance; candidates must be U.S. citizens.
