Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Structural Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for analyzing, researching, and developing structural engineering analysis packages involving metals, non-metallic, or composite structural materials for product design or operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with senior engineering teams to develop solutions to complex problems that are thorough, imaginative, practical, and consistent with program objectives.
  • Coordinate and communicate clearly with other disciplines during the development of design solutions.
  • Present and explain structural issues/solutions to internal management and customer representatives.
  • Review completed analyses, drawings, and repairs for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
  • Evaluate engineering products for conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM-related field with 5 or more years of engineering experience or MS in STEM-related field with 3 years of engineering experience or PhD in STEM.
  • Active in-scope DOD Secret clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) to start.
  • Experience in Structural Analysis Methods and documentation, and manipulation of large Finite Element Models.
  • Experience working Material Review Board (MRB) statement of work.
  • Experience in Bonded Composite Structural Analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures.
  • Experience as a team lead or section lead for stress analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience performing DaDt analysis on composite structure.
  • Experience performing DaDt analysis on metal structure.
  • Experience working on Special Access Programs.
  • Experience working on military aircraft.
  • Analysis experience in a MRB role.
