Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Subsystems Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our Vehicle Engineering organization, you will provide technical leadership to a team of engineers and be responsible for the technical quality of our program deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to a multi-disciplined team of engineers
  • Develop and implement program/project planning strategies to ensure cost, schedule, and technical goals are met
  • Align team responsibilities with IPT/Program milestones and deliverables
  • Participate in internal program, customer, and supplier technical exchange meetings and formal program milestone reviews
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Material Science with 14+ years of experience; or a Master's in Engineering, Chemistry, or Material Science with 12 years of experience; or a PhD with 9 years of experience
  • Ability to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Program Special access within a reasonable period of time
  • High level of proficiency using CATIA V5 in the development of aircraft Subsystem Installations
  • Experience in a combination of ECS, Fuel, Powerplant, Landing Gear, and Hydraulic installations
  • Experience and ability to work with the manufacturing team, support A/V testing, and support A/V integration as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active DOD Secret Clearance
  • Understanding of leadership versus management and the responsibilities of both
  • Understanding of systems engineering approach toward Subsystems Development and Systems Integration
  • Understanding of Subsystems impacts to System performance, health, and maintenance
  • Understanding of Subsystems disciplines, skillsets, and levels within those disciplines
