JOB SUMMARY
The Lead Investment Strategist will be instrumental in defining our investment approach and enhancing the financial viability of our affordable housing initiatives.

This position demands a highly analytical and strategic individual with extensive knowledge of real estate investment, construction processes, and the development of affordable housing.

The perfect candidate will possess a solid history in financial analysis, investment oversight, and a commitment to advancing affordable housing solutions.

ABOUT THE COMPANY


SoLa Impact is a distinguished real estate private equity firm dedicated to a dual mission: preserving, rehabilitating, and creating high-quality affordable housing in underserved, predominantly Black and brown communities.

In just five years since initiating its first ground-up project, SoLa Impact has been recognized as the 16th largest developer in the nation and the leading developer based in California.


Currently, SoLa manages over $1.2 billion in multifamily assets, primarily located in low-income, Black and brown neighborhoods.

SoLa is actively utilizing private capital to develop over 3,000 affordable and workforce housing units in California.


Our goal is not only to alleviate but to eliminate the barriers posed by housing costs in our most vulnerable communities.

Having successfully raised and fully deployed its fourth fund ($300 million in equity), SoLa Impact anticipates raising over $1.5 billion through a series of funds in the coming years from a mix of institutional investors, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate and execute investment strategies that align with the organization's objectives for affordable housing development and financial growth.
  • Lead the assessment and analysis of potential investment opportunities, encompassing market research, financial modeling, and risk evaluation.
  • Collaborate with senior management to guide strategic investment decisions and long-term planning.
  • Conduct thorough financial analyses, including pro forma modeling, feasibility assessments, and return on investment (ROI) evaluations for prospective projects.
  • Assess the financial performance of current investments, identifying areas for optimization and enhancement.
  • Prepare comprehensive investment reports and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform extensive market research to uncover emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges within the affordable housing and construction sectors.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on market data and competitive analysis.
  • Stay informed about industry regulations, policies, and best practices impacting affordable housing investments.
  • Oversee the due diligence process for potential investments, including site evaluations, financial reviews, and coordination with external advisors.
  • Monitor and manage the performance of investment portfolios, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and financial targets.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support project financing and investment decision-making.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including development, construction, and finance, to ensure cohesive and strategic investment planning.
  • Build relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, lenders, government agencies, and community organizations.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, investor meetings, and public forums to enhance our profile and influence.
  • Identify and implement innovative investment approaches and financial tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our investment strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement in investment processes, methodologies, and reporting systems.
  • Mentor and support junior analysts, fostering a culture of excellence and ongoing learning.
