The Opportunity
Fidelity Investments is on the lookout for an accomplished Alternative Investment Product Strategist with extensive knowledge in capital markets and alternative investment products. This role serves as the key liaison for our advisory clients, requiring the ability to effectively communicate Fidelity's perspective and its implications for portfolio management. The strategist will collaborate closely with field sales teams to enhance sales performance among our clientele and potential clients. Additionally, the candidate will partner with asset and product management teams to shape our product offerings, develop impactful messaging, and create essential content to support the asset class.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- A Bachelor's degree is mandatory; an MBA or equivalent advanced degree is advantageous.
- CFA or CAIA designation is preferred.
- Over 10 years of experience in sales or product management, with a focus on alternative investments.
- Possession of Series 7 and 63 licenses is essential.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required.
- Proven ability to influence strategic decisions and foster interdepartmental relationships.
- In-depth understanding of Fidelity's offerings and those of competitors is crucial.
- Strong organizational and time management skills are vital for success.
- Demonstrated capability to cultivate and maintain relationships with Advisors.
- Experience in implementing needs-based selling techniques and strategies is necessary.
- A successful track record of client engagement and follow-up is required.
- Ability to forge internal partnerships and work effectively in a team setting.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Provide subject matter expertise on alternative investments to sophisticated buyers, with the ability to articulate their application within portfolio construction.
- Support both on-platform and off-platform sales efforts, including speaking engagements at conferences and interactions with industry influencers.
- Maintain a robust understanding of current economic and market trends through regular monitoring of financial media. As an Alternatives strategist, the individual should provide actionable insights and information to establish themselves as a trusted resource.
