Position Overview:

The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is seeking a Lead Financial Strategist. This role involves conducting advanced and intricate financial analyses and overseeing a dedicated team responsible for the development, assessment, and implementation of financial management strategies and policies.


Compensation & Benefits:
  • Monthly Salary: $10,226.33 - $12,668.62 ($122,715.96 to $152,023.44 annually)
  • Health Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and their dependents, along with a complimentary $50,000 life insurance policy. An annual contribution of $1,500 to a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) is also provided.
  • Paid Time Off: Includes 12 full-pay days and 88 half-pay days of sick leave annually, 19 paid holidays, and vacation time ranging from 10 to 24 days per year, depending on the position.
  • Retirement: Membership in the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) pension plan and coverage under Social Security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and guide the work of assigned staff engaged in the analysis of financial management plans.
  • Manage daily operations, including the maintenance and updating of budget databases.
  • Conduct complex financial analyses and studies related to program budgeting and economic assessments.
  • Generate revenue forecasts and assess legislative impacts on the District, providing recommendations for legislative proposals and grant applications.
  • Establish procedures for the annual budget preparation and evaluate budget requests for accuracy and justification.
  • Advise on financial policies and systems based on comprehensive analysis of existing and proposed programs.
  • Provide technical expertise in the design and maintenance of integrated financial reporting systems.
  • Analyze economic trends and investment options, recommending policies for cash reserve investments.
  • Prepare detailed reports with analytical and evaluative content, summarizing findings and forecasts.
  • Collaborate with administrators on financial planning and analysis matters.
  • Assist in the development of presentations and materials for the annual budget.
  • Utilize specialized software for management information and reporting.
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial records and documentation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

A master's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, public administration, or a related field, along with two years of professional experience in financial or budget analysis. Supervisory experience is preferred.

Alternatively, a bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of professional experience in financial analysis, including two years in budget analysis, is acceptable. Supervisory experience is preferred.


Special Requirements:

A valid California driver's license is necessary, along with the ability to travel as required.
