Position Overview

The Commercial Vehicle Service Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a diverse range of light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute maintenance tasks including installation, repair, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and preventive upkeep.
  • Carry out repairs efficiently, collaborating with the Service Writer and Parts team to maximize productivity.
  • Provide accurate information for work orders, invoices, repair records, and activity documentation.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment and maintain tools in good condition.
  • Exhibit a high level of professionalism and integrity in daily operations.
  • Be a collaborative team member willing to share knowledge and assist in cross-training initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

  • At least one (1) year of experience in automotive or truck maintenance and repair, or completion of an accredited vocational program.
  • Strong diagnostic and repair skills for vehicles and equipment.
  • Familiarity with engine, transmission, brake, and suspension repairs, as well as knowledge of electrical and air systems.
  • Experience with automotive transmissions is advantageous.
  • Understanding of safety protocols necessary for vehicle and equipment operation and repair.
  • Effective communication skills for conveying repair needs and tasks.
  • Ability to interpret service and technical documentation.

Experience & Education Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in vehicle maintenance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license; CDL license is a plus.
  • ASE certifications are beneficial but not mandatory.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Capability to stand, sit, walk, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, push, and pull.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Assist in lifting items weighing up to one hundred (100) pounds.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment screenings, including background checks and drug tests.
