Job Summary
The Fleet Operations Manager will oversee a fleet of production-intent and development vehicles to be used in engineering OBD and calibration testing. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate route scheduling, maintenance, and calibration updates for the fleet of vehicles
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure vehicles are properly maintained and calibrated
- Develop and implement strategies to improve fleet uptime and reduce downtime
- Manage and maintain accurate records of fleet activity and performance
- Communicate with drivers and engineering teams to resolve issues and concerns
- Order and manage maintenance and repairs for the fleet
- Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation regulations
- Forecast budget requirements for vehicles and maintenance
- Support customers and production plants
- Ability to travel to remote test locations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- At least 6 years of experience in a related field
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of commercial class 8 fleet trucks and trailers
- Experience with maintenance cycles and Department of Transportation regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other software applications
- Familiarity with calibration tools and procedures
