Position Overview:
The Microwave Assembly Technician is responsible for executing fabrication and modification tasks on RF microwave hybrid modules and sub-assemblies that range from mid to high complexity.

This role involves the precise installation of connectors, substrates, components, and modules within intricate microwave assemblies, often employing paste and sheet epoxies.

The technician will also perform detailed soldering of components and assemblies according to technical drawings and specifications.

Under limited supervision, the qualified individual may utilize schematics, blueprints, sketches, and both verbal and written instructions to assemble, rework, or reassemble units.


Key Responsibilities:

- Execute the installation of connectors, substrates, components, and modules in complex microwave assemblies, frequently using paste and sheet epoxies.

- Conduct fabrication or modification tasks on RF microwave hybrid modules and sub-assemblies of varying complexity.

- Perform surface mount, fine pitch, and through-hole soldering.

- Utilize miniaturized tools such as tweezers, fine screwdrivers, and soldering irons with precision. - Follow standardized procedures meticulously and ensure high-quality output consistently. - Attach wires to load cell tabs by interpreting schematics or wiring diagrams.
Qualifications:
Education:
Level 3: BS+6-8 years or MS+4-6 years

Essential Skills:
  • Prior experience in electronics or microelectronics assembly.
  • Ability to work for extended periods under a microscope and proficiently use hand tools such as torque drivers and tweezers; excellent dexterity and hand-eye coordination are essential.
  • Capability to read and interpret detailed process sheets and drawings; strong computer skills for accessing drawings and work instructions.
  • Ability to thrive in a diverse team environment; strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary.
  • High School Diploma is mandatory.
  • Active J-STD 001 Certification is required.

Desirable Skills:
  • Experience in an ESD and FOD controlled environment.
  • Familiarity with mechanical assembly processes for small electronic devices.
  • Background in working on military products within ISO 9001 / AS9100 controlled environments.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
