Position Overview

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is seeking a seasonal First Cook to become a part of our dynamic team at The Gideon Putnam. In this role, you will be tasked with preparing meals following established recipes and chef guidelines.

Compensation

Hourly Rate: $24.91

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately measure, portion, and cook all food items efficiently
  • Maintain proper food temperatures and ensure safe food storage
  • Execute opening, closing, and side work tasks in accordance with established protocols
  • Keep the workstation and equipment clean, organized, and adequately stocked
  • Implement waste management practices and document all waste on spoilage logs
Qualifications
  • At least 6 months of experience in a prep cook or line cook role
  • Experience in banquet settings is highly preferred
  • Ability to work quickly and manage multiple orders simultaneously
  • Capability to follow instructions and adhere to procedures
  • Basic math skills for understanding and calculating recipe measurements
Physical Requirements
  • Manual dexterity to chop, mix, and blend various food items
  • Ability to lift heavy pans, up to 50 pounds, and operate kitchen machinery
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive movements
  • Work in a hot and humid environment
Shift Information

Evening shifts
8-hour shifts
Weekend availability required
