Key Responsibilities:- Assist patients in resolving minor difficulties and answer their questions in a professional and courteous manner.
- Provide chair-side assistance to the dentist during patient treatments.
- Prepare operatory for patient treatment according to established protocols and the dentist's directions.
- Expose and develop dental radiographs in accordance with state regulations and Dental Department directives.
- Perform independent procedures as delegated and directed by the dentist, in accordance with state regulations and Dental Department directives.
- Maintain Dental Department equipment according to manufacturer's instructions and Dental Department policies.
- Maintain all Dental Department areas in compliance with Dental Department directives, protocols, and center policies and procedures relative to infection control, exposure control, and safety issues.
- Maintain adequate operatory supplies and compile a list of individual item shortages for inventory control and ordering purposes.
- Monitor patient flow and assist the Dental Director and dentist in ensuring that all patient records and documents are properly and accurately completed and filed.
- Receive and place necessary telephone calls consistent with professional matters, clinic business, and patient care.
- Ensure the sterility of all reusable dental instruments and equipment according to Dental Department directives and protocols.
- Ensure the proper disposal of all contaminated or potentially contaminated materials according to Dental Department directives, center policies, and state and federal regulations.
- Participate in appropriate health promotion and disease prevention activities, both on-site and off-site as required.
- Perform other related and/or necessary tasks as directed by a supervisor to achieve organizational and programmatic goals and objectives.
- High school diploma or GED certification.
- At least one year of experience in a dental office setting.
- Certified Dental Assistant preferred.
- Radiation Safety certification required.
- Coronal polishing certification.
- Able to travel between clinics as required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
