Position Summary:
As the Logistics Operations Manager, you will oversee the effective execution of all transportation, maintenance, and logistics operations within the branch. Your role involves supervising, training, and inspiring team members to enhance their productivity and guarantee that resources are allocated efficiently to provide high-quality services and timely performance for both new and existing clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with contracted trucking dispatchers and drivers.
- Optimize daily routes to maintain load balance and profitability, suggesting route modifications or consolidations for maximum delivery efficiency.
- Plan routine assessments to evaluate route efficiency, reasonable time requirements, and stop sequences for same-day and next-day deliveries.
- Manage all scheduling aspects, including weekly driver routes, vacation coverage, and truck maintenance.
- Supervise the loading of products onto trailers or trucks.
- Oversee the preparation of delivery documentation for drivers.
- Coordinate pick-up schedules with the purchasing department.
- Assist in creating incentive programs, safe driving initiatives, and cross-training opportunities for drivers to enhance their skills and productivity.
- Develop and manage budgets for the assigned unit, ensuring that actual expenses align with the approved budget.
- Address inquiries and resolve complaints related to transportation matters.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- A minimum of four years of experience in a supervisory transportation role.
- At least three years of experience in fleet management, routing, and safety compliance.
Preferred:
- Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid commercial driver's license.
- Forklift certification.
- Knowledge of DOT compliance and auditing.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is between $84,119 and $104,308 annually.
