Job Title: Medical Office Receptionist

The Medical Office Receptionist plays a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of the medical office. This dynamic individual will be responsible for managing the front desk, handling patient inquiries, and supporting the administrative functions of the office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Check-In and Check-Out:
    • Welcoming patients and visitors with a warm and professional demeanor.
    • Registering new patients by collecting necessary information and updating existing records.
    • Verifying patient insurance information and scheduling appointments.
  • Front Desk Operations:
    • Answering and directing phone calls to the appropriate personnel.
    • Responding to patient inquiries and providing information about medical office services.
    • Maintaining a clean and organized front desk area.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Assisting with medical office paperwork, including filling out and filing forms.
    • Maintaining and updating patient records in the electronic medical records system.
    • Coordinating with medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Insurance Verification and Billing:
    • Verifying insurance coverage and processing claims.
    • Assisting patients with billing inquiries and providing information on payment options.
  • Appointment Scheduling:
    • Scheduling patient appointments based on availability and urgency.
    • Coordinating with medical staff to ensure proper scheduling of procedures and tests.
  • Communication:
    • Relaying messages to medical staff accurately and promptly.
    • Communicating effectively with patients, visitors, and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a medical office or customer service role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic understanding of healthcare practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using office equipment, including computers, phones, and fax machines.
