Position Summary: The Additive Manufacturing Specialist plays a crucial role in the operation of sophisticated powder bed fusion (PBF) 3D printing systems to create high-precision tire components. This technical position demands expertise in programming machinery, overseeing production processes, and executing post-production tasks to ensure that all parts conform to stringent quality standards.
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage the operation of additive manufacturing machinery and printers to fabricate tire components and related parts.
- Configure machine settings, including laser intensity, scanning velocity, and layer thickness, to enhance the printing workflow.
- Handle the loading and unloading of metal powders, regulate feed rates, and maintain optimal conditions within the print chamber.
- Supervise ongoing print jobs, making necessary adjustments to uphold quality and prevent defects.
- Conduct post-production activities, such as removing parts, eliminating support structures, and finishing surfaces.
- Assess and verify printed components to ensure compliance with customer specifications and technical drawings.
- Keep comprehensive production logs and liaise with engineering and quality assurance teams.
- Support machine upkeep and troubleshooting as required.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in operating additive manufacturing or CNC machinery.
- Technical knowledge of 3D printing methodologies, materials, and equipment.
- Capability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in using precision measurement instruments and quality assurance practices.
- Commitment to safety, precision, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience in the tire or automotive sector is advantageous.
