Role Summary: The CAD Technician will play a crucial role in producing precise technical drawings and plans for commercial construction endeavors. This position demands a solid grasp of architectural and structural design principles, alongside familiarity with construction methodologies and materials. The ideal candidate will possess experience in the commercial construction field and a commitment to producing high-quality designs that align with project specifications and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create comprehensive CAD drawings for commercial construction projects, including layouts, sections, details, and specifications.
  • Engage with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather project requirements and ensure that designs fulfill specifications.
  • Review and adjust existing CAD drawings based on client feedback or modifications in project scope.
  • Ensure all designs conform to industry standards and regulations, including local building codes and safety protocols.
  • Maintain an organized repository of project drawings and documentation.
  • Assist in conducting site assessments to gather measurements and evaluate project needs.
  • Participate in design evaluations and collaborate with team members to address design challenges.
  • Stay informed about advancements in CAD technology and construction practices.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience as a CAD Technician, preferably within the commercial construction or related sectors.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and other design tools.
  • Strong understanding of construction techniques, materials, and building systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills with team members and clients.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work autonomously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with construction planning and project management software.
  • Knowledge of sustainable construction practices and materials.
  • Experience with 3D modeling and visualization software.
