Position Summary: The Additive Manufacturing Specialist plays a crucial role in the operation of sophisticated powder bed fusion (PBF) 3D printing systems to create high-precision tire components. This technical position involves programming machinery, overseeing production processes, and executing post-processing tasks to ensure that all manufactured parts adhere to stringent quality standards.
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage the operation of additive manufacturing machinery and printers to fabricate tire components and other related products.
- Configure machine settings, including laser intensity, scanning velocity, and layer thickness, to enhance the efficiency of the printing process.
- Handle the loading and unloading of metal powders, ensuring optimal feed rates and maintaining the integrity of the print chamber atmosphere.
- Supervise ongoing print jobs, making necessary adjustments to uphold quality and prevent defects.
- Conduct post-processing activities, which include removing parts, eliminating support structures, and performing surface finishing tasks.
- Inspect and measure printed components to confirm compliance with customer specifications and engineering drawings.
- Maintain comprehensive production documentation and liaise with engineering and quality assurance teams.
- Support machine upkeep and troubleshooting as required.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in operating additive manufacturing or CNC machinery.
- Technical knowledge of 3D printing methodologies, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Proficient in the use of precision measurement instruments and quality assurance practices.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, precision, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience in the tire or automotive sector is advantageous.
