The Role


The Lead Security Solutions Architect (LSSA) is an experienced professional in the field of information security, dedicated to enhancing the security framework of client IT infrastructures.

The LSSA oversees the technical elements of client systems, ensuring solution reliability, accessibility, and effective issue resolution.

Additionally, LSSAs are tasked with the setup of detection mechanisms, technical advancement, and the evolution of security offerings such as Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB).

LSSAs must exhibit confidence and expertise when interacting with clients directly.

As our clients depend on Proofpoint for essential support, knowledge, and security strategy, each LSSA is integral to the client security teams.

This position often requires LSSAs to devise innovative solutions for intricate challenges.

Your Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for DLP and CASB solutions for clients and team members.
  • Mentor analysts and junior team members.
  • Lead troubleshooting, upgrades, patching, and resolution of issues in client environments.
  • Collaborate with Program Analysts (PA) and fellow LSSAs to develop, configure, and fine-tune policies/rules for client systems.
  • Ensure optimal system setup and server configuration to accommodate the evolving needs of clients.
  • Escalate complex issues through a defined escalation process to product vendors and internal teams.
  • Utilize internal CRM for tracking issues and project management; review change requests for accuracy.
  • Assist the team in achieving all client Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
  • Stay informed about industry trends, security developments, and best practices.
  • Participate in on-call rotations outside of regular hours, serving as a point of escalation as needed.
  • Maintain flexibility in scheduling to meet job requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
What You Bring to the Team

  • A solid background in Information Security or Network Security.
  • Proficiency in corporate networking, technical support, system administration, and operating systems (Windows, Unix/Linux).
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
  • 2+ years of extensive experience with DLP (Proofpoint, Symantec, McAfee/Trellix, or Forcepoint) and/or CASB (Proofpoint, CloudSOC/Elastica, Skyhigh, or NetSkope).
  • A drive to discover innovative and effective solutions to complex challenges.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
  • Creativity and diplomatic tenacity to challenge existing models for improved efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex ideas and solutions to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent time-management abilities.
Preferred Experience

  • 2+ years of comprehensive experience with web proxies or email gateways.
  • 2+ years of experience with MSSQL or Oracle Databases.
  • Familiarity with regular expressions.
  • Knowledge of scripting or programming in languages such as Perl, Python, Java, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Vendor certifications in relevant products.
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, Network+, Security+, etc.
