Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer, Consulting Principal to join our team at Jacobs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and developing advanced network communications systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as principal consultant on network infrastructure, providing expert guidance and support to our team.
  • Design, plan, and develop advanced network communications systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of security and performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, leveraging your expertise in local and wide area networking, communications, and related software/hardware.
  • Integrate security measures into network designs to protect against threats and vulnerabilities, ensuring the integrity of our systems.
  • Analyze and develop new hardware requirements, preparing specifications for hardware acquisitions to support our network infrastructure.
  • Provide support for all information systems operations activities, including computer and communications operations, data control, LAN/WAN administration and operations support, operating systems programming, system security policy procedures, and operations.
  • Coordinate with the Information Assurance Security Engineers to validate all designs against required security controls to maintain Authority to Operate of each enclave.
  • Create, review, and update technical documentation in support of integration projects, ensuring accurate and comprehensive records.
  • Provide full implementation documentation and templates for all phases of deployment and sustainment of network equipment and services.
  • Identify and diagnose complex performance, security, and technical issues, developing and implementing solutions across a wide range of technologies.
  • Implement and maintain DISA STIG requirements, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Requirements
  • Ability to meet or exceed DODD 8140/8570 IAT Level 3 requirements, to include CE certification.
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) – Enterprise Infrastructure certification.
  • Experience with a broad range of Cisco products, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Understanding of internetworking routing protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, VPLS, DMVPN, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, VRRP, HSRP, and NHRP.
  • Experience with network security concepts, best practices, and technologies, including SSH, IPSec, RADIUS, TACACS, firewall policies, and 802.1x.
  • Experience installing and administering network and systems equipment, including remote network operations and optimization.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of interconnection of multiple IP telephony systems via LAN and WAN connections.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment, with the ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Must have active Top Secret clearance with SCI or TS with the ability to acquire SCI.
  • High School Diploma.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in an IT-related field.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing.
  • Extensive experience with designing, integrating, monitoring, and maintaining interconnected networks, both LAN and WAN.
  • Extensive experience with network architecture development and design.
  • Extensive experience with Cisco IP telephony products.
  • Familiarity with datacenter infrastructure and experience with Cisco routers and switches.
  • Hands-on experience with implementation and use of network monitoring, fault management, and performance analysis tools.
  • Experience with Type 1 line encryption devices.
