Job Description

We are in search of a Senior Solutions Architect to engage in pre-sales activities for the DataDirect Networks Federal team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent presentation abilities, a solid understanding of the storage sector, and a comprehensive grasp of the HPC / AI ecosystem. This role provides technical assistance to Sales Representatives and fosters relationships with our Federal clientele. The candidate will design solutions and proposals tailored to customer specifications, assist clients in defining solution requirements, and offer POC and Benchmark support. Additionally, the candidate will deliver written reports to management regarding status and challenges within the Federal domain. The position may involve providing installation and training on DataDirect Networks solutions as necessary. The candidate should be prepared to travel approximately 20-30% of the time. Other responsibilities include mentoring junior Solutions Architects and developing services and product offerings to enhance DataDirect Networks' Services. This individual will perform pre-sales tasks while also supporting Professional Services when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in pre-sales activities to support high-performance and AI storage sales within the government sector.
  • Assist in securing new business opportunities by thoroughly understanding clients' technical and business needs, aiding sales in qualifying, identifying, and closing new opportunities.
  • Comprehend the sales process and effectively utilize company resources to secure accounts.
  • Participate in customer-focused seminars, trade shows, events, and training sessions.
  • Provide responses to RFPs, technical diagrams, presentations, and recommendations.
  • Maintain a comprehensive technical and procedural understanding of DataDirect Networks' sales cycles, products/services, and relevant industries.
  • Develop an extensive knowledge of the company's appliance and software product lines.
  • Innovate solutions to meet customers' business requirements.
  • Support DataDirect sales representatives in qualifying potential customer deals.
  • Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) for proposed customer solutions for submission to Inside Sales for quoting.
  • Submit weekly status reports of activities to management.
  • Manage customer relationships post-sale, including strategies to secure repeat business.
  • Build and implement professional services solutions around DataDirect Networks product offerings.
  • Expand professional services offerings beyond DataDirect Networks products, contributing to the development of products, processes, and procedures to facilitate engagements.
  • Design blueprint solutions for implementation within DataDirect Networks sales offerings and mentor junior Solutions Architects.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and presentation capabilities.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • In-depth knowledge of the storage industry and solutions is essential.
  • 3-5 years of experience in operating systems debugging or managing Linux and Windows environments.
  • Familiarity with Red Hat, SUSE, CENTOS, Ubuntu, and scripting languages (Shell, C++, Java, Perl).
  • Understanding of parallel filesystems, Lustre, GPFS, or Exascaler.
  • Knowledge of block storage SAN and RAID systems.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Information Systems.
  • Understanding of networking concepts is required; familiarity with NAS protocol levels (CIFS, NFS, SMB, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Infiniband and Ethernet networks.
  • Ability to multitask and devise innovative solutions for client needs.
  • Must possess the ability to listen, comprehend, and articulate customer requirements and solutions.
  • Capability to think quickly and convert requirements into discussion points for clients.
  • Ability to form and lead teams is essential.
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills are crucial.

Active Security clearance (TS/SCI), or the ability to obtain one, is required.
