About the Company: Kemp Quarries is a prominent supplier of construction aggregates, focusing on materials such as crushed stone, sand, and gravel. Our operations involve extracting these materials from natural deposits through a meticulous mining process that includes drilling and blasting, followed by crushing and screening to meet customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all safety regulations and standards set by MSHA / DOT and the company.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the crushing and mobile equipment fleet.
  • Operate and maintain company vehicles efficiently.
  • Conduct repairs on factory equipment and various industrial machinery, including conveyors, production machines, screens, motors, and crushers.
  • Ensure a safe and clean working environment by adhering to established procedures and regulations.
  • Contribute to team objectives by achieving related results as necessary.
  • Perform emergency repairs on production equipment during operational hours and conduct scheduled maintenance during service periods.
  • Utilize mechanical skills including welding, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting, and repair of production machinery.
  • Employ a range of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in the execution of duties.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of three years of mechanical experience with heavy equipment or rock crushing machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety guidelines, operational instructions, and maintenance manuals.
  • Proficient in basic arithmetic operations.
  • Capable of following written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record; a CDL is advantageous.
  • Experience in public works maintenance, crushing, or construction industries is preferred.
  • General knowledge of diesel or gas engines, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
  • Ability to perform assembly and disassembly of parts with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools and precision measuring instruments.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three years of related experience and/or training.
  • Technical school training is beneficial.
  • A welding certificate is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, or balance.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various environmental conditions.
  • Exposure to hazardous materials and the ability to tolerate such conditions.
