Role Summary:
The Lead Production Technician is responsible for overseeing the operational activities of the production team, ensuring adherence to quality standards and production schedules. This role requires proficiency in operating machinery, understanding production processes, and utilizing hand tools for the fabrication and assembly of electronic components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the production workflow of the team, guided by the Production Supervisor or Manager, to maximize efficiency and meet deadlines.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the production team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Engage in hands-on fabrication tasks alongside team members, ensuring all work orders are completed accurately.
  • Work closely with various departments, including Planning, Engineering, and Quality Assurance, to facilitate smooth production operations and timely project delivery.
  • Conduct In-Process Inspections (IPIs) to ensure compliance with quality standards and production requirements.
  • Monitor production metrics and workflows, identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing necessary changes.
  • Uphold safety standards within the workplace, ensuring all team members adhere to established safety protocols.
  • Quickly address and resolve any production-related challenges or equipment issues to maintain continuous operations.
  • Stay informed about industry advancements and regulatory changes relevant to avionics production.
Standard Duties:
  • Inspect incoming kits from Material Control.
  • Perform laser marking and labeling of components.
  • Prepare wires, including stripping and crimping.
  • Assemble harnesses according to engineering specifications.
  • Conduct continuity checks to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the workspace, adhering to 5S principles.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing assembly role.
  • Experience in harness, panel, or kit assembly, preferably in aerospace.
  • Familiarity with electrostatic device handling and soldering techniques.
  • Ability to interpret assembly drawings and color codes.
  • Basic computer proficiency and understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
