Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Employee Relations Specialist to join our team at Lifespan. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing employee and labor relations inquiries, conducting investigations, and providing guidance to managers on performance management and employee relations matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage employee and labor relations inquiries, including referrals to HR Business Partners
  • Conduct interviews and gather information for employee relations matters, such as harassment allegations and work complaints
  • Provide guidance to managers on performance management and employee relations matters, including reviewing performance improvement documentation and witnessing counseling meetings
  • Assist with reductions in force and union bumping process during reorganizations
  • Consult and provide guidance to managers on effective management and improvement of staff and team performance
  • Manage grievance procedures in partnership with HR Business Partners
  • Resource for managers to escalate HR issues and partner with HRSC to effectively resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Assist with recordkeeping related to corrective actions, grievances, terminations, and transfers
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to EEO, affirmative action, collective bargaining, unions, labor relations, and human resources
  • Assist with preparation of policies, procedures, documents, and reports, including affirmative action plans and labor agreements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business, or related field preferred
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred
  • Minimum of three years of professional human resource administration experience, with experience in employee and labor relations investigatory techniques and performance management preferred
