Role Overview:

The Automotive Sales Specialist is responsible for selling and leasing new and pre-owned vehicles while meeting dealership profit, volume, and customer satisfaction benchmarks.

In this position, you will...
  • Achieve a minimum of 10 vehicle sales or leases each month.
  • Welcome and assist customers entering the dealership or sales area.
  • Prepare comprehensive sales agreements and manage documentation in line with dealership protocols.
  • Utilize dealership sales management systems and follow-up procedures.
  • Participate in training sessions as directed by the sales manager.
  • Stay informed about new products and services in the automotive sector.
  • Implement a customer follow-up system to encourage repeat business and enhance satisfaction.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to customer development.
  • Conduct business with integrity and professionalism.
  • Assist clients in selecting vehicles by actively listening and asking relevant questions.
  • Provide detailed explanations of product features, performance, and advantages to potential buyers.
  • Outline available optional equipment for customer consideration.
  • Offer test drives to all interested customers, ensuring proper identification is obtained beforehand.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations governing automotive sales.
  • Set personal income targets aligned with dealership productivity standards and devise strategies to achieve them.
  • Stay updated on new products, features, and accessories, along with their benefits for customers.
  • Understand vehicle equity and depreciation to effectively communicate with customers.
  • Ensure that the sales manager has the opportunity to meet each customer.
  • Submit all finalized deals to the finance and insurance manager with the necessary documentation.
  • Prepare sold vehicles for customer delivery prior to their arrival.
  • Coordinate with the Appearance Team to ensure sold vehicles are clean and ready.
  • Deliver vehicles to customers, ensuring they understand the vehicle's features, warranty, and paperwork.
  • Introduce customers to service department staff to highlight the quality of service available.
  • Schedule the first service appointment for new customers.
  • Follow up on all post-delivery items to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Review and assess performance regularly to optimize time management and planning.
  • Attend sales meetings and maintain a tidy vehicle display area.
  • Perform all other essential duties related to the sale and marketing of vehicles.
  • Facilitate meetings between customers and the finance and insurance manager.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and organized workspace.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
