Automotive Sales Consultant Responsibilities:

Facilitates the sale and leasing of new and pre-owned vehicles while meeting dealership profit, volume, and customer satisfaction benchmarks.

In this position, you will...

  • Sell and lease a minimum of 10 vehicles monthly.
  • Welcome and assist customers entering the dealership.
  • Prepare complete sales orders and manage paperwork in line with dealership protocols.
  • Utilize dealership sales processes and follow-up systems effectively.
  • Participate in product and sales training sessions as directed by management.
  • Stay informed about new products and services in the automotive industry.
  • Maintain a follow-up system to encourage repeat business and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain a prospective client database.
  • Conduct business ethically and professionally.
  • Assist customers in selecting vehicles by actively listening to their needs.
  • Provide detailed explanations of product features, applications, and benefits to potential buyers.
  • Outline all optional equipment available for purchase.
  • Offer test drives to interested customers, ensuring proper identification is obtained.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations governing automotive sales.
  • Set personal income goals aligned with dealership productivity standards and develop strategies to achieve them.
  • Stay updated on new products, features, and their advantages for customers.
  • Explain vehicle equity and depreciation to customers.
  • Ensure the sales manager meets each customer.
  • Submit all completed deals to the finance and insurance manager along with necessary documentation.
  • Prepare sold vehicles for customer delivery before their arrival.
  • Coordinate vehicle cleaning with the Appearance Team prior to customer delivery.
  • Deliver vehicles to customers, ensuring they understand the vehicle's features, warranty, and necessary paperwork.
  • Introduce customers to service department staff to highlight the quality of service available.
  • Schedule the first service appointment for customers.
  • Follow up on all post-delivery items and special requests to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Review and assess daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly performance to optimize time management and planning.
  • Attend sales meetings regularly.
  • Maintain a tidy vehicle display area.
  • Perform all other essential duties related to the sale and marketing of vehicles.
  • Facilitate meetings between customers and finance managers.
  • Describe optional equipment available for purchase.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and organized workspace.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
