Mechanical Commissioning Engineer - Onsite Role
This position involves collaboration with a prominent provider of mission-critical data center solutions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement onsite commissioning strategies, collect and provide specifications, and fulfill tasks in a multidisciplinary engineering commissioning capacity for large-scale facility initiatives.
  • Conduct comprehensive commissioning documentation adhering to stringent quality management processes.
  • Oversee equipment pre-start-up and start-up protocols; develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and methods of procedures (MOPs).
  • Prepare and maintain commissioning test procedures and reports; create and manage commissioning logs and equipment checklists.
  • Draft detailed reports that include recommendations for enhancing operational efficiency, functional checklists, and documentation of deficiencies.
  • Review design specifications, drawings, and equipment submissions relevant to the commissioning process.
  • Design and implement functional tests for various building MEP systems, including fire alarm systems, HVAC, chillers, and CRAC units.
  • Conduct integrated system testing and load bank testing; compile results from all testing procedures.
  • Prepare commissioning plans while adhering to company quality control processes.
  • Lead and coordinate external resources; organize and conduct periodic commissioning meetings.
  • Engage with clients, contractors, equipment suppliers, and owner representatives as necessary; execute project assignments and collaborate with all company departments.
  • Verify test report outcomes; assist with troubleshooting of commissioned equipment as required; possess field experience with power quality analyzers and related testing equipment.

Qualifications:

  • 4-7 years of experience in the Mechanical/HVAC sector.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is advantageous.
  • LEED accreditation is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience in commissioning enterprise data centers and hyperscale facilities is essential.
  • Background in complex facilities or mission-critical projects is a significant advantage.
  • Prior experience in data center environments is mandatory.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, as this role involves extensive documentation and client interaction.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
  • Experience with mechanical equipment testing in critical facilities or data center environments.
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE standards and protocols is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of systems design for various projects is beneficial.
  • Military experience, particularly in electrical or mechanical roles, is a significant advantage.
  • Experience with Level 1-5 commissioning processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project is required.
