Job Overview

This role involves supporting the operations of the department effectively. The individual will be expected to undertake additional job-related tasks and responsibilities as required throughout the organization. The Systems Specialist III will engage in both routine and intricate technical duties related to troubleshooting and repairing components within building automation systems, including field cabinets, sensors, and associated controls. This position operates under the guidance of a senior building automation technician and is expected to uphold all responsibilities and standards of lower-level technicians. This position supports Albireo Energy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair building automation system field cabinets, including communication devices, circuit boards, power supplies, and sensors.
  • Conduct point-to-point checks in accordance with departmental standards, utilizing tools such as multimeters to verify sensor functionality and connections.
  • Guide and mentor junior technicians to uphold departmental standards.
  • Proactively manage the checkout of end devices, module configurations, and troubleshoot network-related issues.
  • Oversee the startup of both simple and complex automation systems and mechanical equipment.
  • Understand various protocols that can be integrated into the building automation system.
  • Develop complex programs and graphic modifications to meet specifications and sequences.
  • Communicate technical challenges to management and senior technicians.
  • Maintain accurate field markups and coordinate updates from junior technicians.
  • Arrive at work punctually and prepared to execute assigned tasks.
  • Perform essential database functions, including backups and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain company tools and testing equipment.
  • Generate comprehensive daily reports for the project team and supervisors.
  • Set a positive example for junior technicians through mentorship.
  • Identify opportunities to advance project progress.
  • Collaborate with jobsite personnel from various trades to achieve project goals.
  • Work alongside commissioning agents to validate system functionality.
  • Engage in solution-oriented discussions with project stakeholders.
  • Promote employee engagement and development in safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards, fostering continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Encourage open communication and involvement among team members to enhance performance.
  • Support a culture of accountability and high performance in safety and business operations.
  • Complete weekly timecards accurately and on time.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred qualifications include equivalent experience, vocational training, or an Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, or related fields.
  • Experience in high-availability environments such as data centers or healthcare facilities is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the Automated Logic product line and software is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Prior experience in writing Building Automation Systems programs and graphics is beneficial.
  • A self-motivated attitude with a strong desire to learn and develop professionally.
  • Ability to document daily activities and prepare for assigned tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on high-quality documentation.

Compensation:

Pay rate ranges from $37/hr to $42/hr, depending on experience.
