Key Responsibilities:
- Implement pre-commissioning and commissioning protocols; develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and methods of procedure (MOPs); maintain comprehensive commissioning documentation.
- Conduct commissioning across various levels (1-5).
- Prepare detailed commissioning test procedures and reports; manage commissioning logs, equipment checklists, and other tracking tools for commissioning projects.
- Draft thorough reports that include recommendations for enhancing operational efficiency, functional checklists, identified deficiencies, and equipment operation manuals.
- Review design specifications, drawings, equipment submissions, and other relevant documentation related to commissioning.
- Design and execute functional tests for various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, including fire alarm systems, HVAC systems, chillers, and CRAC units.
- Conduct integrated system testing and load bank testing; compile results from all testing procedures.
- Prepare commissioning plans while adhering to the company's quality control processes.
- Assist in managing external resources; schedule and lead commissioning meetings; participate in construction and coordination meetings as necessary.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, equipment suppliers, and project stakeholders; execute project assignments effectively.
- Verify test report outcomes; assist with troubleshooting commissioned equipment as required; possess field experience with power quality analyzers and related testing equipment.
Qualifications:
- 4-7 years of experience in the Mechanical or HVAC sector.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is advantageous.
- LEED accreditation is highly desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- Experience in commissioning enterprise data centers and hyperscale facilities is essential.
- Experience in complex facilities or mission-critical projects is a significant advantage.
- Prior experience in data center environments is mandatory.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for documentation and client interaction.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% is required.
- Experience with mechanical equipment testing in critical facility environments is necessary.
- Familiarity with ASHRAE standards and protocols is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of systems design for various projects is beneficial.
- Military experience, particularly in electrical or mechanical roles, is a considerable advantage.
- Experience with Level 1-5 commissioning is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project is required.
