Job Summary:

The Development Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of activities for the organization, including annual fund/campaign, donor acknowledgement and correspondence, and grant writing and research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designs, implements, monitors, and evaluates a comprehensive direct-mail program, including strategies to incorporate and segment groups, e-campaigns, giving societies, focus on donor acquisition and increasing average gift amounts.
  • Coordinates with hospital information systems and Marketing Department to identify and segment audiences for each appeal to produce mailing lists.
  • Researches and identifies grant opportunities for the initiation of new programs or support and continuation of existing services and programs.
  • Develops case statements and proposals for funding, ensuring that information, figures, style, and format are letter perfect.
  • Writes, prepares, and submits innovative and competitive LOIs (Letters of Inquiry), grant proposals, and other documentation as required by the funding source.
  • Writes and coordinates content for presentations, annual report, newsletters, brochures, pamphlets, and other materials as necessary to support fundraising efforts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree - communications, marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in fundraising, with a focus on healthcare fundraising, prospect research, grant writing, and special events.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge or other development software.
