YOUR ROLE IN OUR SUCCESS

As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for sourcing materials, components, equipment, or services while optimizing company resources in accordance with corporate policies and relevant federal regulations.

You will be knowledgeable about assigned commodities and their supplier networks, maintaining the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and professionalism in all purchasing activities.

Building and maintaining professional relationships with suppliers, free from the influence of gifts or personal connections, is essential.

Your commitment to quality will be paramount in achieving your objectives, enabling and driving positive change within the organization.



KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • Execute defined tasks under the guidance of Purchasing management or a Senior Buyer.
  • Review incoming requisitions for accuracy and completeness, ensuring proper authorization.
  • Initiate quote requests and expedite supplier responses.
  • Assist in determining effective pricing strategies for assigned commodities through analysis of historical data.
  • Monitor costs and schedules of assigned contracts.
  • Engage with suppliers and assess their facilities to ensure alignment with Ferrotec's standards.
  • Oversee return-to-vendor processes to ensure effective corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with other departments regarding delivery statuses, specifications, pricing, and quality issues.
  • Communicate with planning teams to resolve delivery challenges.
  • Work alongside a Senior Buyer or Purchasing Manager to enhance delivery performance and achieve cost savings.
  • Manage one or more commodities, including precision machined parts, sheet metal fabrications, and service contracts.
  • Utilize various procurement methods to secure necessary supplies in a cost-effective manner.
  • Maintain data and reports on assigned commodities and suppliers as required by management.
  • Establish receipt schedules and quantities to meet demand while adhering to cost and inventory objectives.
  • Propose and implement enhancements to purchasing practices and supplier management processes.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a related field.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in English and Chinese is highly desirable.
