Responsibilities:

  • Guest Arrival and Departure: Assist guests with arrival and departure from the hotel, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
  • Front Desk Operations: Greet customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome, using a positive and clear speaking voice to provide accurate information and respond to requests.
  • Registration and Check-In: Complete the registration process by inputting and retrieving information from our computer system, confirming pertinent details and making appropriate selections of rooms based on guest needs.
  • Payment and Accounting: Verify and imprint credit cards for authorization, handle cash, make change, and balance an assigned house bank, as well as accept and record vouchers, traveler's checks, and other forms of payment.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving: Promptly answer the telephone using positive and clear communication, input messages into the computer, and retrieve messages to communicate the content to the guest. Field guest complaints, conducting thorough research to develop effective solutions and negotiate results.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: Remain calm and alert, especially during emergency situations and heavy hotel activity, and be available to work on a regular basis, performing any other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required, and a college degree preferred.
  • Experience: Hotel experience preferred, with considerable skill in the use of a calculator to prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations without error.
  • Skills: Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information, and resolve conflicts.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand and move throughout the front office and continuously perform essential job functions, as well as access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
