Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Development Executive to propel our fund development to new heights. As Chief Philanthropy Officer, you will drive the organization's 5-year growth plan and secure funding for our mission-critical work.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing a robust strategic fundraising program, managing a personal portfolio of high-value donors, and cultivating relationships with institutional donors in California and beyond.

  • ">Manage a team of 10-15 staff, fostering a collaborative environment to achieve fundraising goals through planning, training, and accountability.
  • ">Supervise and develop a comprehensive major donor program, focusing on identifying, cultivating, and stewarding individual donors to ensure sustained support.
  • ">Partner with senior leadership, boards, and program leaders to identify new funding opportunities and match program strategies with potential funders.
Requirements
  • ">Minimum of ten years' experience in successful development leadership and management, including growing development teams and managing them to successful outcomes.
  • ">Stellar fundraising track record, personally securing significant six-to-seven-figure gifts.
  • ">Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; experience as a spokesperson.
  • ">Proven ability to act in a transparent and consistent manner while always considering what is best for the organization.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $180,000 - $200,000, based on experience. Our benefits package includes 8-20 vacation days, 7 sick days, 12 holidays, 1 week off between Christmas and New Year, 5 days of bereavement leave, health and dental benefits, section 125 plan, 401(k)-retirement program with up to 3% employer match, flexible spending account (FSA) for health care expenses, subsidized commuter program, and optional life insurance.
