The Chief Development Officer (CDO) role at California Environmental Voters is a high-profile opportunity for an experienced fundraising professional to drive the organization's growth plan and secure funding to combat the climate crisis.

As CDO, you will lead all aspects of the organization's development functions, designing and implementing a strategic fundraising program in coordination with staff and board members. Your goal will be to propel EnviroVoters' fund development to new heights, achieving an annual budget of over $10 million.

We are seeking a seasoned development leader with a proven track record of securing significant six- to seven-figure gifts and building strong relationships with California environmental philanthropists, foundations, and institutional donors. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a personal portfolio of high-value donors and supervising a team of 10-15 staff to achieve fundraising goals.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and be able to communicate clearly, authentically, and persuasively with diverse audiences. They will also have a demonstrated ability to work collegially, learn from others, and partner collaboratively with donors, staff, board members, and organizations.

Additionally, they should have a stellar fundraising track record, naturally connect and build strong relationships with others, and demonstrate exceptional listening, consensus-building, and leadership skills.
