Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer - Controls Specialist to join our team at Incom Usa, Inc. in Vancouver, WA. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical engineering support to our manufacturing operations, ensuring the production of well-designed and profitable parts that meet customer and company expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Ownership: Take charge of production process equipment, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, designing, and implementing improvements.
  • On-the-Ground Support: Assist with anticipated changes to process equipment control architecture.
  • Controls System Design: Contribute to the design and development of effective control systems.
  • Complex Systems Solutions: Develop robust solutions using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), machine vision systems, sensors, motion control devices, and robots.
  • Hands-On Engineering: Provide expertise and support for the design, evaluation, troubleshooting, and modification of electro-mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Technology Application: Investigate and propose the use of cutting-edge technologies in new and existing manufacturing processes.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Robotics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, with a focus on process and equipment design, development, and documentation in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Background in electro/mechanical/controls/software (LabVIEW, PLC).
    • Experience with AutoCAD electrical (panel schematics and layouts).
    • Working knowledge of NFPA79 (Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery).
    • Experience with running/setup/programming CNC machines is a plus.
  • Hands-On Ability: Demonstrated willingness and ability to work directly with production team members to design, develop, and implement new systems/processes.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines under pressure.
  • Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proven ability to lead, motivate, and work as part of a team.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong passion for detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Physical and Mental Capability: Meet the physical, mental, and behavioral expectations of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
