Position Overview:

We are in search of a distinguished Senior Sous Chef to elevate our acclaimed Latin American and Asian dining establishment. With a prestigious reputation and accolades, we are looking for a skilled culinary expert who is eager to enhance our celebrated culinary offerings.

Key Qualifications:

Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a dynamic kitchen setting, ideally within award-winning restaurants.

Operational Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen management, including labor oversight, cost efficiency, and inventory control.

Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work in tandem with the Executive Chef and kitchen personnel, including mentoring and developing junior staff.

Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, labor management software, and point-of-sale systems.

Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Certification: Valid Food Handler's Certificate from the Department of Health.

Desirable Attributes:

Experience in Latin American culinary traditions.

Experience in Japanese culinary practices.

Fluency in Spanish.

Core Responsibilities:

Inventory Oversight: Assist in the weekly inventory process and manage invoice reconciliations.

Vendor Relations: Support the management of vendor partnerships and oversee daily food procurement and preparation.

Team Development: Contribute to the training of new staff, uphold high standards, and provide support to the kitchen team as necessary.

Quality Assurance: Maintain exceptional standards in ingredient selection, preparation, and presentation. Conduct regular quality checks to ensure consistency.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health regulations and maintain the kitchen's readiness for inspections.

Cost Control: Assist in monitoring labor and food expenses to align with budgetary goals.

Physical Demands:

Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.

Capability to lift weights exceeding 30 lbs.

Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules based on operational needs.
